Second Single from Deadman's Trousers
Jesus Lives In Oberon
'Jesus Lives In Oberon' is a whimsical story of 3 unique characters living their lives as they see fit.
It is not a religious song. The title references the words on a t shirt that 'character 1' bought at an Op Shop in Bathurst. He also bought a pair of dead mans trousers and a brown pair of Grosby Velcro's.
Character 2 is a hippie love child doing her best to carve out a mainstream life, while character 3 is happy to remain in a dream world.
Album Launch
4 Pines Truck Bar
To launch our new album, Deadmans Trousers and to kick off the regional NSW Tour, we are kicking off with a home ground soiree'. We haven't played the 4 Pines before but have been eyeing it off for some time. It will be a gig of first's. Our first the 4 Pines, our first gig of the Deadmans Trousers tour and our first gig with our new bass player, Wally.
NFirst Single From New Album
Voice Inside My Head
Voice Inside My Head starts out like a long distance phone call on a cold winters night then builds into a swampy rock song in the style that we love.
If you check the photo, you will notice Mo's first 4 wheel love in the background and an Annandale skyline from a separate photo that was taken by Mo's partner in crime, Zann, at pretty much the exact same time as this photo was being taken in Brookvale.
At this time, we were mourning Mike leaving the band (note the Missing poster in the window) and yes, that is Mo prostrate in the foreground after having set up the shot.
Deadman's Trousers Tour
As a band, we have managed to journey outside of Sydney on 2 occasions. One to play up in Port Macquarie and the other out to Oberon. Both were super fun and we are figuring that we may as well heat that up. So we engaged a Tour Manager, G.A. Gregory Productions and with his help, we are now hitting the road. The poster shows the dates and venues and if one of them coincides with your location or if you are contemplating a holiday, we would love to see you there. To say we're excited about this...... well just think back to Christmas as a 5 year old.
New Bass Player Found
Introducing Wally Brown
After searching over hill and over dale for a new bass player, we found one over the back fence (literally). Wally is a musician of the highest order with lead guitar being his previous day job. Wally is a good mate of Phil's and was the lead guitarist of his former band, Curious Cab. We didn't know if Wally would be keen to play bass but once he came down for a jam, it was like when you see those magicians who tear up a playing card and miraculously find the piece that fits perfectly. Wally has joined just in time for the Dead Mans Trousers tour and we could not be happier.
Mike Has Left The Building
Life gets in the way sometimes, and so it is a very sad day for this little band to announce that Mike is leaving our gang. Far and away the best musician in the band, his bass lines have taken our music to levels that we never thought possible. He’s the quiet, solid rock and roll anchor for the rest of us to swing around depending on which way the musical winds blow and tides flow. Thanks, mate, for everything…and if nothing else, your name is on the door to any gig we’re involved with, and you better show up every now and then Mr Szymanski! We’re gonna miss ya.
